Everyone gets a smile - paulita

This super clásico seems to have arrived as one of the most anticipated ever. But that’s the feeling it irradiates every single time.

La Bombonera gathers the most diverse kind of people. Between many, economical chasms and nationalities separate us. A group of Asian tourists dressed for the occasion in ‘azul y oro’ (blue and gold) stand out. The game has not started but already they show big smiles. Their incessant, indecipherable, murmur is frowned upon. My prejudice tells me they can’t possibly get it. I’m proved wrong when they stand up and flap their hands in tune with La Doce when it’s time to remember hoaspitalised Diego.

I guess nobody is immune to this.

I try to not get carried away neither by the alleged condition of River of underdogs nor by the near departure of Boca’s biggest idol of the last decade: Guillermo Barros Schelotto. I find that anything but easy.

My heart will be accelerated for 95 minutes and there’s no point in trying to fight it.

The first ball goes to Riquelme’s feet and it comes as a balsam: Román is in one of those days. You can tell, one touch is enough. The second ball he touches finishes in the quickest goal in the history of the clásico (50 seconds). Only he can find the unseen alleys to the goal and leave Ledesma in a position to execute River’s goalkeeper, Carrizo (I suggest that you remember that name). The waving terraces slide at the deafening shout of gooooooal, followed by Riqueeeelme Riqueeeeeelme, which will be spontaneously repeated all through the game.

The first 45 minutes are played at the pace that Riquelme settles. And no, it’s not slow. It’s profound, precise and elegant. Not only ball possession, but ten clear possibilities to score that mostly encounter the wall that Carrizo built up in the goal line. River seems to come back to life at the very end of the first half with one chance.

The breaks in Argentina are longer than in other leagues. They last long enough for the pessimist thoughts to arise. Everyone stuffs with whatever food is sold (they all include meat and bread) in order to avoid thinking about the widespread football law which says that the goals that you fail to score are scored against you. Whether if that’s true in itself is of little importance, it’s proved right in facts more often than not.

The second half finds an eroded Boca and an early equalizer from Rosales. He looks up to the sky, conscious of how grateful he and his fellow gallinas should be. River have a few chances to win the game and so do Boca. River don’t attack but wait crouched and counter attack, always a valid tactic, though hardly satisfying for the black palate that River fans parade.

Carrizo miraculously saves with his leg a free kick taken by Riquelme who also puts a remote-controlled ball on Palermo’s head. All the subtlety that his feet lack, lie in his headers. And yet, he misses. I know then that it’s just not going to happen. Not this time.

Passarella saved his head for now. During the previous game, River fans started chanting about him being a bostero. In their mouths, that’s a big offence. So he chose to carry a white and red umbrella when crossing the field in Boca (and we all let him know that we don’t want him here anyway). In the same line, after the game, he provocatively stated ‘I don’t celebrate draws, they do’. And yet his eyes were laughing so loud.

On the way out of la bombonera, the sense of loosing two points more than winning one was unavoidable.

But had we already forgotten what we just saw and how we felt? Riquelme floods our hearts with immense joy only by playing football. Anything can be said about him, but that’s the effect he has on us. Never has he failed us and we might consider ourselves lucky to have witnessed a breed of footballer in danger of extinction.

A constant reminder of the collective nature of the game.

R: ‘It’s my duty to do everything to help Palermo be the top scorer
J: ‘What about scoring yourself?’
R: (shrugging and looking down)‘I’m happier when I assist a teammate’

And those are not just empty words. Most of the celebrations of Boca’s latest goals include a gesture of thankfulness towards its conceiver who smiles in response (yes, Riquelme smiles).

Because on one of those days, he doesn’t randomly pass the ball. He protects it, even with his ankles at the risk of revenge from humiliated defenders, with such determination that we know he simply can’t loose it. Only then he raises his head and clarifies the play.

On one of those days, he treats us a trick or two and we say ‘have you seen what he just did?’ just to make sure it was not our eager imagination.

On one of those days, he defies modern football and proves that speed of mind beats sprinter's legs.

On one of those days, we get to smile and hope that those days never end.

is 'crossbar' the english word for last week's injustice?

I cant view youtube on my work laptop and my home laptop has crashed.

Have to re-install everything :(

so no you tube for now, so you have to describe it for me.

In anycase I was lying anyway, according to you :)

"is 'crossbar' the english word for last week's injustice?"

some like Neil Warnock can view the crossbar as an injustice :)

You have to give me more info as no you tube.

crash like when the system goes down or like heinze and evra?

'In anycase I was lying anyway, according to you'
so my distrust has upset you? :))

the move is impossible to do and difficult for me to explain.
the other was from the return leg of boca - velez but nevermind.

Anonymous said...

"crash like when the system goes down or like heinze and evra?"

More like when Van Der Sar is fumbling a save. All of over the place with the icon pinging around everywhere, followed by crash (goal)

'In anycase I was lying anyway, according to you'
so my distrust has upset you? :))

I guess I was a bit, but not much. And now I am only teasing you. As opposed to still being upset.

the move is impossible to do and difficult for me to explain.
the other was from the return leg of boca - velez but nevermind.

I will fix my technical problems soon and give you my considered opinion :).

Mayb upset is a wrong word. more like....its true, we could be anybody. Is that what makes this medium good? (deep deep stuff :)

Anonymous said...

why then, tell me why, has SAF said that van der saar was the best goalkeeper in the history of ManU??

(I won't accept building up his confidence as an asnwer)

('icon pinging', I'm saving that in the hard disc of my mind)

'we could be anybody. Is that what makes this medium good?'
yes. and no.
we are not anybody. is that what makes this medium not that good?
(it can only go deeper :))

Anonymous said...

Did Sir Alex says this??

He must have been on the gin.

I will own the rights to the pinging word and you can have it on lease.

Good deep stuff. :)

Anonymous said...

'He must have been on the gin'

that or it was the commentator the one on the gin.
he also said that gerard never changes shirts with man U and that lampard's wife wouldn't let his daughter wear chelsea's shirt.

I'm sendind that to the recycle bin of my mind :)

Anonymous said...

Hola Sleep-blogger :)

Will you view the UEFA Final today??

Maresca says if he scores he will dance flamenco on the pitch.

He is Italian.

Should be fun.

Anonymous said...

yes, I'm viewing UEFA today

what else could I do? :)

Anonymous said...

tevez words when arriving:

'they are looking for excuses because our salavation was miraculous (...) we won on the field, not at desks'

'to hear old trafford shout argentina! argentina! is impressing'

'I'm waiting for the call to play Copa America'

'I don't know anything about my future, but I'm very comfortable at west ham (...) from the beggining, even though I didn't play, people were amazing'

Anonymous said...

Tell him

Argentina! Argentina!

is for Heinze.

:)

Anonymous said...

jaja

there were argentine shirts with the 11 that said TEVEZ!!

Anonymous said...

Yeah, perhaps.

But if he wants to stay with west ham then they have to invent him a new argentina song, the other one is taken :)

Mayb it can be:

Dont cry for me Argentina
my life in west ham
Is getting better

lalala.....

sounds good..No?

if he comes to manu he can have the full blooded Argentina!

:)

Anonymous said...

jajaj

you're really in love with heinze :))

last week it was liverpool but now newspapers are saying that carlitos is going to real madrid?

how's your ankle?

Anonymous said...

Heinze is not the best footballer, but his commitment is well appreciated.

even the commentator was saying how heinze has a unique attitude to playing among all the foreign players.

He plays through all kinds of pain, cos he like to play and be involved.

Funny also cos he spent a long time on the bench, then he played all the big important games when they were struggling for fit players.

I am only teasing you anyway...that Heinze is the main Argentinian in the epl.

My ankle is fine. Its has been weak for sometime, everytime I play someone kicks it, then all the pain comes back. should be ok for next game : ) (like heinze).

Although I also dispense a lot of kicking myself, so I have no complaints about this :)

Anonymous said...

what do you mean?
is not english futsal all tricks and fairplay? :)

anyway, it's mainly kicks aimed at ankles and calfs right? no head butts or handgoals no? :)

I think it was in january that there was a version that real madrid wanted heinze. in an interview he said he wouldn't leave manU because they had been so supportive through his injury.
I like that.

Anonymous said...

Thats what I mean re: Heinze

Like the commentator was saying, heinze is a rare kind of footballer these days. Thats why Sir Alex could always count on him for all those important games recently, even though he is not 100% fit.

He is vicious in the air.

No head level challenges in our futsal, just a lot of really bad play, like watching...charlton v watford, but worse.

You have no so much joy today??

Anonymous said...

'You have no so much joy today??'

you think?

vicious in the air, on the ground and I suspect also in the water :)

yesterday you were zidane, how come today you play for charlton?

Anonymous said...

Something in the water perhaps.

All joy will be fully restored. I think this evening will also provide some joy.

Yesterday I felt like zidane, today I feel like charlton :)

dont worry its also only one day before la bombonera and Carlitos.

Anonymous said...

'Yesterday I felt like zidane, today I feel like charlton'
a bad night in between the extremes?

a flamenco dance from maresca would be nice :)

yeah. it's a difficult game though, paraguayan defenders are as fierce as heinze, really.
the coach's said 'I'm not worried about riquelme, we won't pay especial attention on him.' translated, that means 'we'll leave his ankles worst than speaktruth's' :)

Anonymous said...

have you seen this?

Anonymous said...

Excellent Ebren Thanks

I will read properly later.

Anonymous said...

hola ebren

the piece is great and ramon maddoni is an institution himself

who is the writer?

Unknown said...

Hey paulita,

The writer has added comments to marcela blogs in the past with the blogname "clack". She told him to send it to me, for pseuds - so he did. It's a good piece.

The Indi article tells you all I know about his life - he is called Neil Clack and in Buenos Aires.

Anonymous said...

yes, I remember a clack

most of maddoni's answers are taken from an interview that he gave when tevez was leaving for corinthians.

there's a part of tevez history that remains unclear. it's said that when he played at all boys (lower league) he was snatched by boca but since there was a contract, he changed his last name (to tevez). he has stated that this wasn't true, that the change of the last name was because his parents had divorced.

there are also more colourful incidents in 2004, when he left for brazil, a bit in hurry because he was getting 'difficult'. he was dating the most curvaceous airhead lady in arg, missing trainings, hitting photographs, while winning cups and saying things like: 'now that tevez is the best footballer in southamerica everyone is after him' and the suddenly 'I need holidays'.
(a resemblance with maradona no?)

hola purist

today I'm sad-blogging :(

Anonymous said...

poor ms purist.

I have just seen the news.

Not the best I guess, but you cant always have the best.

was Carlitos there??

any news?

perhaps a boca v west ham friendly
:))

Anonymous said...

when i said sad, i meant really sad... couldn't even make it to the stadium.

it could be a good motivation though

I read today that tevez was there but he was hidden, nobody at the field new.
recovered maradona was also there.

'perhaps a boca v west ham friendly'
ja! who'd carlitos play for?

Anonymous said...

Didnt make it to the stadium??

a u ok?

did your leg break??

No wonder they did not get the right result :)

Carlitos will play for chelsea :)

(actually I have a feeling this will be a possibility)

Anonymous said...

jaja!

I blame it on my absence too. otherwise, how would you explain:

-boca's goalkeeper being so helpful in their goal?
-roman taking the penalty as bad as I would?
-boca not being allowed a 2 mts onside goal?

carlitos to chelsea?
maybe it's for the best.
(he said in some interview that he wasn't sure about staying in england)

Anonymous said...

Probably best for your breathing that you were not there.

You still say no reason why you did not make it. (only cos I never think it possible for you to miss such an occasion)

Anyway what Carlitos does, his life I am sure will be sweet and he is already west hams best player ever.

well since Lionel Scaloni anyway :)

Anonymous said...

a subway strike pretty much messed up my day.

is that enough to be the best player in the history of west ham???

speak with the gods, I don't know what they are doing, honestly. tell them to behave tomorrow :)

Anonymous said...

I told you its always best to drive. subways always have the ability to ruin the best laid plans

The gods will have no problems tomorrow. Their instructions are very clear.

And yes in the eyes of west ham fans it is probably the highest honor a footballer can recieve :).

Anonymous said...

marcela on Tevez in the blogs.

I am sure you can see this for yourself in anycase :)

Anonymous said...

I'm there now!

this place is getting too far :)

Anonymous said...

Hola Paulita,

How are u?

watched Zaragoza v Athl Bilbao 4 - 3 final score.

d'ellasandro and aimar were full of tricks, great purist game after the not so purist game in the afternoon.

which city should the gods prefer on wed do you think?

Anonymous said...

hey mr purist

the gods are rebelling, don't you think?
you sound happy all the same...

still, you can have them on wed (I need the on thursday)

couldn't watch zaragoza.
how good was aimar?

Anonymous said...

Hey ms purist

I am cheerful, been busy, little time to feel the gods omissions.

The gods make make up for it on wed at their spiritual home. Then yes, you can loan it for thurs. Then the gods will be going for a well deserved holiday :))

Aimar was good, so was d'ellasandro (yes you know I prefer him :) He did some real zidane like magic moves, one I think for one of the goals.

It was very rainy and A.Bilb were their usual rubbish with that basque only thing. Good young striker who scored hattrick though.

Also saw Ibaghaza being Ibaghaza for mallorca v Valencia. The big ones this eve.

Happy Days!

Anonymous said...

there's no zidanism in d'allessandro, I'm tempted to call you speak{insert favourite insult}!!!

are you not a little dissapointed by manu's performance?

no tv for atletico de madrid, were they naturally bad or were they trying hard to not help real madrid? because a 1 -0 woul've been enough...

Anonymous said...

Let me help you; speakcrap :)

He was very effective

Manu performance was not the best neither was chelsea.

They dont really care enough about that cup so they can be excused.

That said it was not that bad a game and the 2nd half was better which always happens in these types of games.

everyone is now making noise cos Valdano has taught them a new phrase.

I am early today, have to drive to Manchester for meeting (Yawn!!)

Athl Mad were bad and they had a keeper aged 9 who missed everything.

Anonymous said...

I thought you wouldn't be able to watch the game?

they are saying that chelsea offered 80 million for tevez. and I'm thinking he'll look better in blue and next to drogba (especially now that ronaldo is the worst player of the season :)

how far is manchester from london?

Anonymous said...

why won't scholes play for england?

Anonymous said...

which game??

In anycase I did watch em all one way or another :)

Yeah, Ronaldo is finished. If only there is another team that will want to take him :).

I think there is a strong chance Tevez will go to chelsea. That was always the suspicion that the company MSI who owns his contract is a front for Roman. In fact you could say chelsea was always the plan.

How far is Manchester??

About 300km.. or so.

It takes me about 2.5 hours

Scholes:

He wanted to focus on playing for mu.

Anonymous said...

the fa final.

they said the same here so we thought 'maybe it's not such a stupid move'.
and maybe we'll witness beautiful football (finally) sprouting at stamford bridge and I'll become bluepaulita :)

I'd say scholes is my favourite english player.
if an argetine footballer said that he would probably be crucificated (not by me)

ps: did you say hi to sir alex?

Anonymous said...

and by 'crucificated' I mean 'crucified' (I think?)

Anonymous said...

grrrrrrrrrr... woof!

Anonymous said...

Hola ms purist

sunshine today, birds singing

I thought Boris didnt growl? although that just sounds like Offside or one of the many silent contributors to this page :)

Paul Scholes is your.....?

I am shocked, why? he is not even good at the gambeta or such like. He is ok, not for me not special as is made out.

I think there are too many sqaure passes between him and Carrick. But I think I am being picky.

Lets just say he is your D'ellasandro.

Fergie was away with the granchildren, I had to make do with C. Quieroz :)

Anonymous said...

buen dia mr speaktruth

that's a fake boris, the real one has been sleeping for the last 12 hours and if he were to bark it would be more of a 'wiiif'

which english player is good at gambeta???

I don't think any moulds were broken with scholes, but he's got class and he occassionally shows it.
before gambetas or anything else, the basic is to pass the ball to someone wearing your same shirt no? sometimes simple football is more difficult and much more beautiful.

besides, I've read a few (probably meaningless) things I like.

Anonymous said...

ms purist,

English players and Gambeta??

Jason Koumas??

although he is welsh :)

Sleeping for 12 hours seems impossible. send him out for a walk.

Ok Paul scholes is your thing and I agree with the description, although sometimes I wish he were more decisive with the pass/shot. when its needed.

I sincerely hope the gum chewers sign not only hargreaves who is another square passer, but also sign Nani from sportingL.

Nani will provide more Gambeta which is now what the team needs and take some attention away from C. Ronaldo.

More Gambeta for all!!

They should sign D'ellasandro also :).

Anonymous said...

I don't know jason koumas

boris spent the weekend in the countryside chasing bugs, leaves and other threatening things. he won't get up for another 2 days probably.

'I wish he were more decisive with the pass/shot'
we won't give you riquelme but you can have cardozo if you like.

Anonymous said...

Jason Koumas plays in Div 2 and for wales. He is a technical player.

He is like ....a poor man's Riquelme :)

Sees the big picture and can kill his opponent with a pass.

We can have cardozo. Heinze can show him around.

Anonymous said...

So now, Boris is chasing threatening things?

does this include intruders ankles??

:)

Anonymous said...

how come I've never heard of him?

I think cardozo would get along better with ferdinand...

boris has bitten (familiar, not intruder) ankles but only by accident.

Anonymous said...

Becuase he plays in div 2 and for wales. But you should know welsh players??

There is a strong welsh history in Argentina (actually i heard this once)

why, does Cardozo like to miss drugs tests?

if only by accident, Boris is halfway there.

Anonymous said...

welsh footballers? I only know giggs and I think bellamy?
but shame on me, I should know anyone with a riquelme resemblance...

you surprise me, really, you think buenos aires is almost like rio de janeiro but you know about the welsh history?

on cardozo, it was rumoured in the past that he had problems with drugs and that boca tried to get rid of him.

Anonymous said...

Buenos aires is not like Rio????

shocking news, this must be fixed at once.

I did say once that what I didnt know about south america could fill a warehouse.

I stand by that statement :)

He must be good if they can see beyond his habits.

Now which bunch of agents and corporations do we need to speak to to get his signature?

or is it their signature :)).

I keep meaning to visit eric's piece on this issue.

Anonymous said...

you never said how big the warehouse was...

neri cardozo, depending which game you see, can be superb or an amateur.
I know I offered him myself but, no, you can't have him. newspapers are saying that palacio (forward) is going to barcelona, and that's already a big lost.

I know you want to say 'west ham should be relagated (for ever)'.

Anonymous said...

west ham should be relegated forever and Alan curbishley to manage them forever.

There.

I've said it.

:)

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Beckham is not of significant national importance for me to comment.

To be serious though, he is off the football radar here.

Anonymous said...

did it make you hold your breath? :)

whoever he might have been watching, I'm sure he was disappointed.

I don't understand either what difference can 1 game make.
in this case, I think it was an excuse to come to la bombonera :)

Anonymous said...

Yeah!

holding my breath alright.

It was like one of those when you keep looking round the corner to find the answer then you find another corner, then you have to look round that one then there is still another corner.

You get my cornering analogy??

:-))

I cant remember what you feel towards Liverpool?

Indifference??

or

outright hate??

:))

Anonymous said...

jaja!!

you see, I don't like the word 'hate', I'd say I dislike liverpool very much. not liverpool as a club, their singing fans are pretty likeable (not very, cause they look red) but I don't have the slightest respect for their game.

Anonymous said...

I dont like the word hate either, so we will go with your reasoning :)

if liverpool lose tomorrow, those blog fans will have a hard time time.

If they win, we will denigrate their epl record anyway :))

Anonymous said...

ja!

if liverpool win, the talk about the genius of rafa benitez will be unbearable.

milan can't loose this game.

Anonymous said...

Anything can happen in a game.

If Milan win, liverpool will get a lot of shit on stick :))

I have assigned the gods to special duties tomorrow :)

Anonymous said...

'shit on a stick', what a poet valdano is

as a bostera I should want liverpool to win.
not that we aren't a 3rd world club and not that it means anything but we've been bragging about being the club with more international cups...

your gods were on holidays last week :)

Anonymous said...

Bragging about Intercontinental??

Thats desperate :))

but also means a lot different there.

Like in england, no one cared about fa cup and league cup.

Now everyone wants to say.....we have a trophy.

I think this is a good thing, cos it helps the hunger.

I believe the gum chewer started this when he wanted to win the league cup, when chelsea won the league.

one year MU did not enter the fa cup at all.

The gods dont consider these cups important. (not champions league though)

Anonymous said...

did you just call us desperate? come and say that in la boca :))

but fa and league cup isn't international. we don't have cups like that.

Anonymous said...

The fa cup may not be international, but Liverpool, London and Manchester may as well be different countries. :)

I will of course not say this in la bombonera.

The truth speaker has some wisdom :)

Anonymous said...

Hola ms purist,

The gods had a busy night yesterday, so you can have them for today, but please remember they are tired from a busy night.

What a classic cold dish.

And Super Pippo is now the King of Europe.

Can you remember a top striker being so decisive in a top game??

Even you now, have to Love Inzaghi :)

Anonymous said...

mr purist, please excuse my poor timing.

the gods have done their job. sweet days for the purists :)

on pippo, I can't help feeling weird or uncomfortable by his fish out of water moves when he isn't scoring.

that said, I have nothing but respect for him. yes, you read well, respect.

I was tought at an early age to adore / fear the inzaghis. one of my earliest footballing memories involves a striker, predator kind. I said to my father that I thought a certain player was bad. he seriously, a little offended, answered that I didn't understand, he was a 'goleador' and those are special. during that season he did absolutely nothing, except scoring 15 goals in 15 games, which he all celebrated crazily, quite desperately. I thought that had to be the best of feelings and also an important job :)

inzaghi celebrates goals with desperation too. the secong goal was very nice, but the first one matches better the caricature like image that I have of him. certain players, magnetically attract the ball because they treat her nice (in spanish it's a she) but pippo needs to get on her way :)

the offside thing, I think he does a variation of cruyff's rule 'of 10 balls you touch, be offside in 9, save one, 2 tops, to be onside and score'. square feet, but sharp mind to manage time - space.

I don't really know what I'm writing, my brain doesn't get enough oxegen on libertadores nights :)

Anonymous said...

ms purist,

so nice to hear u.

I was going to send out a search party to find u :)

Even your short piece on the qualities of Super Pippo is so beautifully conceived.

" I can't help feeling weird or uncomfortable by his fish out of water moves when he isn't scoring. "

This moment is when he is providing his version of entertainment :)

In wednesdays game at 2 - 1 he had the ball by the touchline at the half way line with aggar (liverpool defender) on his back.

Any other player would attempt to head in the goal direction with some grace.

Super Pippo wanted to waste time so he dragged the ball and aggar all the way to the corner flag like a ragged doll and won a corner and the milanistas cheered.

No beauty whatsoever, but a great great goalscorer.

I have always loved super pippo for his celebrations and his messy goals. I found a youtube of his goals and I posted this on the blogs.

Have a look, he has even scored that deflected first goal before. Nothing is just luck with super pippo :)

The gods have indeed done a fine job and I assume they did also some fine work for you at la bombonera??

Anonymous said...

hey mr truth

abort searching plans, I repeat, abort searching plans :)

I've seen your defense of pippo on different fronts. and I think I know which play you're talking about! pippo does something very weird with his feet and he doesn't seem to postion his body correctly. even the one in red is wondering 'what on earth are you doing?'.

the gods have been so generous (the game was in paraguay) and I'm so religious these days :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6g4ZGYsZYcU

diego (maradona, who else?) send someone before the game to ask for riquelme's shirt, 'diego appreciates his effort no matter the result, playing in one leg...' roman doesn't think that's enough, he has to make that shirt priceless :)

heh!heh!heh!
abort! abort!

ms purist is in the building!!

I repeat!

ms purist is in the building!! :)

Roman was in a killer mood.

Liverpool fans are tearing out their souls (heh!heh!heh!)

The gods have done a fine job

Although I think marcela is not happy with the gods.

Anonymous said...

I don't know about the weather in london, but birds seem to be singing inside your head :)

what problem does marcela have with the obliging gods?

Anonymous said...

:)

I read a blog here which they were discussing the game on wed.

she wanted it for Mascherano I guess.

And it would have made a good story.

Now she can spend some time on my rabbit stew.

heh!heh!heh!

Anonymous said...

jaja

nobody wants to spend time on your rabbit stew!

at least mascherano played a fine game...

Anonymous said...

You are wrong

You will see.

Then you wont be laughing

heh!heh!heh!

In fact I am suprised all those crazed, desperate, success starved, liverpool fans are not asking for rabbit stew :))

Anonymous said...

why would they ask for saviola when they can ask for super carlitos??

Anonymous said...

Yeah Yeah

you know how the liverpool fans mind works??

The latest star they have seen on Tv for one game.

They will see more of the rabbit in the coming weeks.

Then they will all want rabbit stew.

carlitos ia on holidays and in any case he is wanted by bigger better clubs

heh!heh!heh!

Bloody hell!!! La mierda!!!!Youve been chatting on this thread for a whole month!! I was checking out the site to see if my latest Pseuds article was out, and being pretty much bored on this holliday Friday, its argentine indpendence day today, I decided to have a look at old threads and suddenly spotted the number 504 on Paula's blog...Speaky, I knew I had reasons to be jealous. How come no mention of boquita's win in paraguay yet??I'll be back you two, now that ive found your secret cave....

Anonymous said...

Hey pipita

what a delight to see you.
(dont see you much on the main blogs)

Has it been a whole month?? :)

Some bloggers have been rappin for years!! :)

Besides its always Paulita and my need to convince of the powers of the rabbit :)

As may have gathered I am rather partial to rabbit stew :)

Have you been anned from the main blog?

That said Paulita rarely goes there too. Unlees its a marcela piece. Maybe she will appear when the rabbit stew is ready :)))

Havent been banned from GU blogs at all, just not frequenting them that much lately, except off course when Marcela's blogs are out. Suppose Ive been quite busy these last days and usually prefer to come over to this Pseuds spot. Im glad your are more inclined towards former River players such as Aimar, D'alessandro and Saviola rather than to ex bosteros. Im sure Paulita's not impressed about this but she has to acknowledge that your inclinations are clearly consistent with your purist fame.

Anonymous said...

Ha!ha!

Thats naughty.

The river link is purely coincidental :)

I also like Boca legends like....like.....???

er...Roman :)

and such like :)

Purists dont see colours, they see fantasy.

Anonymous said...

pipita what took you so long?

escuchaste la conferencia de prensa de daniel alberto?

speaktruth if you're a gallina under cover, this is over, I'll tell ebren to shut this thread immediately.

Anonymous said...

hola paulita

I swear pipita made me say this.

no way am I a gallina.

The purist code will not allow it :)

Anonymous said...

SPEAKTRUTH

maybe you're a little gallina, maybe I didn't want to see it :))

Anonymous said...

Heh!Heh!Heh!

weellll

I did like Diaz, Francescoli and the rabbit

but I also like Roman and martin Palermo and occassionally Maradona. (is he still playing??)

Ha!Ha!

You know the purist can have no alligiences.

don't forget you like tevez

or was that not true? you're in that basement cursing carlitos?

Aha!!!!Enzo, ramon diaz your at pains to disguise your gallina inclinations. Come on buddy, dont be afraid of this bosterita, feel free to express your true allegiance ha ha, or is it, je je

Anonymous said...

Ok ok

I only had gallina thoughts yesterday for a few hours.

(In a homer simpson desperate explanation way :)))

How was I to know Boca dont play in white with a red stripe???

Heh!Heh!Heh!

(Thats should do it.)

Anonymous said...

pipita

I blame you.

For creating a missunderstanding of team colors. :))

In anycase both teams are not anything untill they have beaten Liverpool.

pipita did you like the result on wed? and were u pleased for super pippo?

(There should only be one ansa to the last point)

As an everton fan I was pleased, Liverpool are my english bosteros. As you may have seen in the pipo blog I hate him a great deal too, but admired your defense

I won't get angry pipita, I understand, these are bitter days for you and your people :)

Anonymous said...

ha!ha!

like I said I blame it alllll on pipita :)

why? are there problems at river??

Is Lux still in goal?

always odd for a keeper to be named after a bar of soap :))

Anonymous said...

pipita is evil, I know that, I expect that.
but you're no innocent bambi!

lux? jaja
how can you remember...? nevermind. lux hasn't been considered by passarella for a couple of months. he is said to be trasfered in june and he started with that of passarella being a bostero. river has little (microscopic) chances in the local league and was eliminated in the group stage of the libertadores cup, playing a painful to watch football. people are very angry and, especially the youngest fans, insult passarella (a lot) and also the footballers. and passarella sinks deeper with every word he says and every move he does. ortega is supposed to be in recovery from his drinking issues. his football hasn't remained intact and he was stupidily sent off las weekend.

boca, on the other hand...

I think you are crazy.

are you talking about cricket?

In which case, stop.

cos neither you nor I for that matter, no anything about cricket.

I blame pipita :)

Anonymous said...

could you please explain (in words) what's 24/7 20/7 and 4/7?

Anonymous said...

nothing crazy, I'm not talking about the sport.
isn't in england the sound of silence really the sound of crickets?

in arg they do cri cri

I've been told in eng they do chirp chirp (cause they're drunk?)

Anonymous said...

Now u r completely crazy.

ok lets start from the begining.

24/7 means 24 hours and 7 days

Its an american saying to mean open all hours.

cricket is a useless game founded and lost frequently by england

crickets is an insect that makes a noise at night usually in hot countries. Almost certainly not in england. (i could be wrong on this)

as a way to try and rescue your craziness :)

Anonymous said...

jaja

I see. you're sounding very rational and the contrast isn't making me any good :)

BUT you are not american (I assume) and you also said 4/7 and 20/7. now what is that?

no sound of crickets at night? I get it. that could be why you're sad.

Anonymous said...

sad?

I am not a liverpool supporter.

definitely no crickets.

There is no beauty in this noise in anycase. Although I do like the sound of the guatamalan (tell them their country is now spelt differently :) jungle.

How do I know??

from the movies of course

ha! ha!

(Thats terrible. I am better than this:)

Anonymous said...

jajaj

I'm sure in guatemala crickets are louder than in buenos aires. in some parts of the city you can hear some, you might even get a visit from an intrepid one but you need to go to the outskirts, it's a lulling sound really.

I've just realised pipita says boca is chelsea and also liverpool. I need this to be written down: BOCA IS NOT.
there. I feel better.

Great to see u here.

I feel honoured.

crackin job midweek.

You created some many beautiful red tears.

Heh!Heh!Heh!

pipita, dont worry.

I'll kick his ass any day. and then set the dogs on him.

heh!heh!heh!

hola paulita

how's the world?

pipita said...

Speaky
Yeah, lets send the dogs on him next time...Paulita seems to be having a day off from the blog. Probably training Boris for Offside's next impertinent, and cowardly, intrusion here

Anonymous said...

Hola,

I was at a secret training session at Clairefontaine where I met this offside guy. I can confirm that he is positively terrified that paulita and speaktruth are going to find out he listens in on their "private" conversation.

He also told me he was acutely conscious that pipita doesn't have a sensayuma, otherwsise he would answer with another silly joke under an assumed identity.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go and talk to David Trézéguet about passports.

Anonymous said...

Higuain

Its too late

You should never have gone to real madrid.

Your career is over.

Before it even started.

And I'll set the dogs on you and your offiside friend.

where is paulita??

Anonymous said...

Sorry, Gonzalo is gone, but I think he meant business...

Dogs love me, I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do about that. The fiercest beasts wag their tail and get all cuddly when they see me.

Tough luck.

Anonymous said...

offside

I don't want to hear from you until you finish (start?) that piece I so kindly asked for.
and please let go of my dog. he's shrugging his shoulders, telepathically telling me 'alright, he smells of coconuts so I drew near, I'm weak, but who knew he'd start biting my ears'.

pipita

nobody is scared of anybody. speaktruth has freely ventured into boca's world, what else could happen other than wanting not to leave? he might not know it yet, it could take some time for him to realise, but the same happened with manU...

speaktruth

did you see ronaldinho being sent off? I know the gods will punish me for taking some pleasure in that.

Anonymous said...

Paulita

You are back!

you can restore some order to this place. Offside has been making mess everywhere with his friends like Higuain.

There is no way out of Boca?? (ok.)

Ronaldinho sending off was funny, but the fouling player did not even get a yellow card.

Sevilla tonight.

I am preparing the gods for a mission in Zaragoza next week.

of course the getafe player should've been penalised too. but dinho's eyes were about to come out, I had to at least smile.

I don't think there'll be tv for sevilla

ps: no, no way out, maybe I shoul've told you that before?

Is everyone going to church today?

cos I always see all these south american players crossing themselves when they step on the pitch :))

a bit loud. my neighbours will complain.

we're very religiuos when it comes to football, I think we tend to forget about it during the week

Anonymous said...

I promise that if we did this in spanish I wouldn't have any (none, not even 1) spelling mistake.

Yeah, I thought this the other day

That you are doing well with english.

is your speaking just as good?

do speak english a lot on the streets of BA??

I try not to :)

any chanche that you'll learn spanish and I'll get to show my flawless spelling and syntax?

spanish is just too difficult.

Anonymous said...

so you've given it a try?

I find english much more practical.

in any case, you'll learn spanish from spain and we'll still speak different languages...

I have an easy, football related, one, for you:

dar pelota = (literally) give the ball = (meaning) pay attention

Anonymous said...

Paulita,

what was it you wanted from me? Perdona, pero no me acuerdo...

have you been able to see the youtube ballet move that I tried to show you some days ago?

I'll stop there. Apologies, shall not happen again. Hi Paulita, bet your going to la bombonera today...How can you miss todays certain win. I hope you dont have the bad taste of putting some Boca colors charm on poor ol Boris. It would be a grasada

Anonymous said...

Good one.

Nice to see them settling well under mike newell :)

I have to look up the clip. That was when I had technical problems

Sevilla on soon,

What was good??Paulita'a ballet moves or my singing?? Clarify please

Anonymous said...

Whats was good??

Newell old boys.

I will have to review your singing at a later date.

I am sure you are a talent ;-)

Sevilla one nil v Zaragoza.

Some great skills on show.

Anonymous said...

3 - 1 to sevilla

Yet another great game. Sevilla scored the last 2 goals in the last 8 minutes when they just effectively overwhelemed Zaragoza for whom D'lleansandro scored (you hear that Paulita!)direct from a corner (via Alves)

Great game.

The gods work will be complete if they can assist sevilla's ambitions.

pipita said...

Newels-Estudiantes 4-4 was an gem of a game.
Paulita must be celebrating at a pizzería in la Boca her team's 3-1 win. Im watching how River are winning 3-0 away to Gimnasia a pointless league match. Great D'alessandro goal from the corner. As for my singing, luckily you wont be hearing too much of that in the future. But beware, next thing you know we'll get Offy signing up here as Pavarotti......

Anonymous said...

speaktruth

what? d'allessandro scored? that changes everything, I take it all back :))

still defending pippo? good for you :)

pipita

'How can you miss todays certain win'
don't think that I don't know what you're trying to do! cause I do know, oh yes I know! and I don't like it! ni 1 poquito!

not his best game, but newell's 9 is absolutely great.

Anonymous said...

of course d'ellasandro scored. Although I think it was given as an own goal. but it was direct from a corner.

so you can eat your words Paulita :)

(I hope I am not too loud??)

Hopefully he will destroy madrid next weekend.

Anonymous said...

you've just made boris wake up in a terrible mood... thank you purist

I don't know why but it was given to d'alessandro.

"I'm vomiting over sid lowe's column."

Yep.

me too.

its dripping with drivel and hype.

Sevilla played a great game yeterday.

Anonymous said...

sid lowe grmphhhhh

was gabriel milito bad yesterday?

argentine newspapers said that d'alessandro (and also aimar)looked LOST and that a milito's mistake cost the the game.

Anonymous said...

You dont like sid since Roman :)

I dont like him either. A lot of reports seem.....lopsided. Dont really learn anything new.

G.Milto was killed for one of the goals, but its simply that sevilla were too good. They brough on some fresh subs and looked like a new team.

Then Zaragoza brought on pique to play in midfield to protect the back, but they still conceded 2 goals towards the end.

I would not say they looked lost, but they were pressed very quickly.

which meant they could not play their normal game. But many teams have this problem when they visit sevilla.

Anonymous said...

'You dont like sid since Roman'

I still feel the fury flowing through my veins :)

you said you watch barcelona - getafe. tell me something (take 2 seconds before saying nooooo) didn't eto looked like he was trying to be sent off too? a little?

Anonymous said...

Eto'o

Not especially.

There was some tension, but etoo was ok

should have scored though.

Do want me to send someone to spain to pay sid a visit?

:))

(Horse head in the bed perhaps?? :))

Anonymous said...

Mayb he just wants to join Liverpool, so if sent off, like Ronaldinho his season could finish early :)

Barca are a very mentally weak side.

The seem to lose self belief in every passing minute in a game. Even when they score.

Anonymous said...

a game with too many fouls for the purists.

eto was ok but he also made some stupid fouls, especially the one against the goalkeeper (in normal circumstances that's a yellow card, the second one in this case). I think he just didn't want to be less than dinho.

jaja!!!
no, I wouldn't like your hands (or horses) to get dirty, besides the gods already have him on probation.
and I've learn't a thing or two about crosses of salt in case he messes with roman again :))

I agree that this barca transmits somthing weird, I'm not sure what that is though.

Maybe we should re-consider letting Boris loose to get his teeth all over Offy. He, I mean Offy, has actually written a piece on French football that has just been screende by Pseuds. Good stuff, why dont you two drop a line. As for Sid, you guys are too harsh, he has the decency at least to answer some of our posts, not as frequently as Marcela off course, but much more that the rest of the GU writers
