Our young friend Chanelle has been in touch with Zephirine again.
"So, names yeah. Me and Alisha have problems about names. Like she’s really called Alicia right but she always puts Alisha cos that’s how it’s spoken yeah, teachers and people always said Alissya which pisses her off. And I was Chantelle till there was this totally stupid girl on Big Brother yeah who was a celeb for five minutes called Chantelle, so I changed myself to Chanelle and then fuckin’ell there was another dumb girl on BB and she was Chanelle so I can’t decide now. Actually my real name isn’t either of those but I’m not telling you.
"So I like sympathise with the amazing Sri Lankan bowler Muttiah Muralitharan yeah, when he says like the spelling of his name that we all use in English isn’t quite correct right but it’s a bit late now cos he’s like the world’s leading wicket-taking spin bowler yeah and he’s in all the record books with a th and now it seems he would have rather had a d.
"So I looked up the spelling (what did you older people do before there was Wikipedia, just not know stuff?) and I found in Tamil they have this letter. It looks like this yeah and sounds like ‘either th or dh’:
த்
"Pretty, isn’t it? Is it just me or does that look a bit like a cricket ball above part of the stumps yeah and a wiggly line showing the ball went all over the place and fooled everyone? Dead appropriate lol.
"But also actually if you know Asian people yeah quite a lot of them say d’s and th’s in quite a same sort of way so it is obviously like an intercultural language type thing, and people sometimes put dh in English to spell that sound yeah.
"So perhaps to be really really right he should be Muralidharan yeah but he’s probably doomed to have a th forever now. Don’t expect he minds too much though yeah, after all we’re just foreigners putting it in our own funny writing as far as he’s concerned lol. As long as he keeps taking the wickets of our batsmen yeah he’ll be happy which he does with like supreme ease : (
"The Sri Lankans are sooo cool yeah, I kind of sort of love Lasith Malinga with his crazy hair and his great smile yeah but don’t tell Karl right, I had to stop talking about Thierry Henry cos he got like edgy. Kumar Sangakkara is playing just amazing stuff yeah like every schoolboy cricket fan dreams of playing right and Mahela Jayawardene is like the Cool Captain In Charge and both those two are pretty neat like hotness-wise.
"In our team I am also of course always fond of Alistair Cook who is tall dark handsome and from Essex what could be better. But it is difficult to keep being fond of Alistair at the moment yeah because he is not playing at like his sparkling best and has been out for some not exactly star quality scores right. OK he did well last innings but like even nice brown eyes don’t make up for an average of 36.75.
"As you can see I’ve come a long way with my cricket knowledge yeah me and http://www.cricinfo.com/ are old friends now and I still get emails sometimes from the cute Aussie boy I met in the W Indies and he always like tests me on my cricket cos Aussies like even compete with their email friends it’s in their blood lol. But I do like cricket now yeah even though Alisha thinks I have severe psychological problems and could use some immediate help.
"Sadly the Sri Lankans are pretty much playing better than us all round right and they just got beaten by the Aussies before. So even though we are supposed to be second in the world blimey could have fooled me yeah that must make the Aussies top of the world (no change there yawn) and the Sri Lankans second and us well like yeah somewhere else.
"It is one of those mysterious Brit sport things right. Cos hey, the idea of cricket is to make more runs than the other side yeah and our batsmen just don’t make a lot of runs, so like someone is missing the point. As I said to Karl right when he was really upset about us going out of Euro 2008, I was like, well did nobody explain to them that the best way to do it was to like score more goals than the opposition? Duh.
"As for poor Freddie Flintoff yeah even though when we met him in the W Indies back in the day right he was hammered and drivelling on about his kids all the time he was a nice bloke really yeah and I am so sorry about his ankle. I had a problem like that after I fell over in some stunning Manolo-type shoes right and my ankle went, I can’t wear any heels higher than three inches now yeah which is a total pain and totally cramps my style : (
"So, am I still with Karl you ask, well yeah, he ain’t Thierry lol but he is very sweet and like reliable. The other useful thing about Karl is he is the anorak of all time and loves to blog yeah, so if you want to have a serious conversation about topical matters of importance like the new Prada handbag right you can just tell him there’s a big row about the Premier League on a Guardian blog yeah and he’ll grab the Apple Powerbook and be quiet for hours : ))
"Sports blogs are a great service to the women of the world yeah, cos if men disappear off down the pub yeah they never come back till later and are well pissed and boring while if they’re sitting at the laptop they are still to hand and you can call them away from the screen any time if you shout loud enough lol."

thanks for the ammunition Chanelle, I'll mention it to the Mrs.File when she gets back from the pub
phonetic transliteration is a tricky subject, from what the Write Honourable Ingrid says the Thai language has similar roots to Tamil (Pali I suspect and Sanskrit too, far too lazy to research). In Thai the aspirated 'th' sound doesn't exist but 't' can be
ฎ or ฐ or ฑ or ฒ or ท or 3 others which don't appear on this Thai keyboard
what I don't get is why City names are always mucked about with, what's so difficult about Paree, or Koln or Roma?
even the Thai capital;
is surely not beyond the common man (or woman)
oh alright, the normal abbrev. Krung Tep (usually spelled Thep for some unknown reason as it's sound is a crisp T)... anyway it's the original City of Angels in translation:
"The city of angels, the great city, the eternal jewel city, the impregnable city of God Indra, the grand capital of the world endowed with nine precious gems, the happy city, abounding in an enormous Royal Palace that resembles the heavenly abode where reigns the reincarnated god, a city given by Indra and built by Vishnukam"
great piece Tseffereen, smart and funny, ta
Now that IS a name for a city:)
Great to have more from Chantelle/Chanelle.
How's Preston??!!
lol
zeph, love -
a charming piece as usual! It brings back the memories of willow upon leather: magic, until my girlfriend's leather breetches were stolen.
I certainly sympathise with your friend Chanelle with regards to the name game.
My cousin, Gordon (a shy, withdrawn character like wot all us Greengrasses are) really took some stick in the days of his youth: people kept on asking him if he was one of the Gay Gordons.
As a result, he became increasingly self-conscious, and started mumbling his name: it sounded like he was saying "Gollum", and he developed some very bad hobbits.
file,
City names are always mucked about with because City are crap, even with Sven-Göran in charge.
By the way, now that Sinatra owns the club, how does "Manchester City" translate into Thai?
Liverpool?
Hole full of water and offal.
'Nuff said.
Good to hear from Chanelle. In the early days of spellcheck, I used to get assignment after assignment lauding the talents of one Coco Channel.
Is it Alastair Cook who doesn't sweat? Does that make him one of those Reptilians (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reptilian_humanoid) that David Icke believes rule the world? You would think he'd get better LBW decisions.
That TutorGN - who's he?
Tutor GN sounds like some sort of teacher, better keep him away from Chanelle:)
David Icke's theories are, well, barking - except that he thinks Kris Kristofferson is a lizard, and there is, you know, something...
And the full name of the other city of angels is El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de los Ángeles del Río de Porciúncula.
I sympathise with Chanelle too, I also injure myself every time I try to walk in heels. Did it again last week.
த் - Isn't that the angle of Murali's elbow when he bowls the doosra?
good question M.Herbe Vert, it all depends how you do it
Muang Khon Na Oak Poo Shy would be something like City of Mens Chests or Muang Khon Khamoy (City of Thieves), Ampur Muang Khon Jai Lai (Big City of Bad People)...
perhaps the closest to the sense of it might be Muang Khon Durm Luak (Blood Suckers City)
imo, the only (minor) compensation for that whole Ugly affair is that Toxin always looks so desperately unhappy (doesn't he just remind you of an exhumed Peter Lorre circa Maltese Falcon but without the compassion?)
...think I might rite a story about him getting visited by the ghost of Citeh past, not that he'd ever give a toss about poor Tiny Tim
Damn, girls - let's have none of this heels thing! Only a week or so ago I walked from the Elephant all the way to Oxford Street in my heels.
Mind you I have been known to stuggle at Hogmanay to get from up the road to home in high heels!
ps/ GG, how would it translate into Svedish?
Coco Channel of course was the innovative designer of British beachwear whose introductions included baggy khaki shorts, socks to wear with sandals and little crumpled white cotton hats.
Chanelle,
English is the wordiest language in the world with approximately 455.000 active words and 700.000 dead words, only the genious Fabio Capello can learn it in one month- if he does, the world cup is a guarantee-I am still wondering,
Where are the panama hats made?
How long last the 100 years war?
Why the famous clock Big ben is not a clock?
this kind of silly questions are stumping me.Oh,also, could you to tell us what do pixies do?
or what kind of snake tempted eve?
You'll be a treasure of fascinating information miss Chanelle if you keep enlightening us...
Pixies don't do anything Mister Tougoal, they don't have to like work or anything yeah they just hang about being magic, mostly in woods I think.
Dunno about the snake, you don't believe that story do you? Must have been a talking one anyway:))
Pleased to be able to help out yeah.
Pixies are great but this is not a Peel session and I;m just wondering why I'm in total tears tonight.
cheers mimi, let the sunshine,

Chanelle,
mademoiselle coco was born gabrielle chasnel, i don't think she cared much for anoracks however her first boy friend Thierry was a center back- no 5-very tweedy boy,
Salut Chanel, c'est moi, Titi.
I'm glad to hear you're taking this spaling thing seriously. L'éducation c'est very important. It's what I always tell the young people who look up to me as an exemple, 'cause they'll not all become a top player billionaire superstar, comme moi.
Unfortunatemalheuresemently, you won't see me much on TV, 'cause I have a problem with my ziastic nerves and I can't vavavoomvite like I used to, and so my new club, Barcelone, they're playing without their best player (moi) and they're in a bit of a slump at the moment. They only won trois-nil away at the weekend, but it will be sorted when I get back.
It's the same with my old team l'arsenal, they never quite got over my leaving them. It makes me sad to see them floundering like that, but what can I do?
You'll definitely see me on TV this summer, 'cause I'll be going to the Euros in the Switz with my team, France. And I'm sure to be playing 'cause there aresen't too many young players coming through to play in the forwards positions.
I know you'll be watching so, when I score my first hat-trick, I'll give you a little wave.
See ya.
PS: please don't give Karl my address, I can deal with adulation, but when it gets too much, it's a little creepy...
titi
I bet chanel taught you the hat trick, you know she started her business making hats and probably learned few tricks then...
now what is the chance of muttiah channelle and capello appearing on the one parko for the chat show to end them all...
2007 has been a quirky year of such mad genius that 2008 is already quivering at the knees...
lay on maczephie..
we'll have revenge for their blood yet and the crown...
Titi, Chanelle just went rather quiet and said "it's not really him is it Zeph?" I said I couldn't possibly comment.
HPD, in theory the last Parky has happened, but Fabio is going to be a great chat show guest from next month when he's learned English:)
guitou,
on New Year's Eve, pixies get pixed out of their minds.
file,
Swedes are so anglicised, it just comes out as "Manchester City" with a phoney Yankee accent.
munni,
I haven't done the high heel shuffle since our Ingrid nicked my stilettoes.
gg: how on earth can Manchester City be phrased in a fake Yankee accent? What does it sound like?
Man Citeh in a Yank accent would be something like "Maaaanchayster Ciiiitiii". I think.
I quite like Manchester Satay, but some people objected, saying it could be perceived as racist/offensive (?).
Lazio, Man City... what is it with Sven and sky blue?
He thinks it brings out the colour of his eyes.
Vain Goran Ericsson?
Svenny successful with the ladies anyway:)
another one with the blue moon in his eyes.
Chanelle has just started her own blog at www.chanelleworld.blogspot.com but she's promised that her thoughts on sport will always appear first on Pseuds.
Duh, link doesn't work. It's there anyway, at www.chanelleworld.blogspot.com.
With heels.
For me, the Chanelle world link is not working. Is it only me?
not only you, for a while I thought I was pre-banned.
I think it IS possible to be pre-banned from GU. I've had loads of posts deleted without knowing why.
Here I think you have to be incompetant to be deleted as this is the home of free speech and etc etc....
Drat. Have you tried just putting in the address and not going via the link?
MotM seems to have got there unaided!
Hi Chanelle, love your new blog. Wish me luck for the weekend.
Stoppit TH, I'm supposed to be like over you... sigh.
but I am" incompetant " as everybody knows, that's why I need special attention, not interested in this cheap romance between Th14 and Chanelle-
Please provide me with the right link, finally I am willing to learn English.
Cheap romance? Do you know how much my last marriage cost me?
Guitou, try again with this link.
I think I was putting www when it should have been http or something equally simple.
I was thinking the other day that Honolulu has been very quiet since the news of Thierry's divorce came through... I do hope she isn't doing anything rash....
Honululu, Chanelle...
Zeph, you're not suggesting one of those fancy continental formations, are you? I do love to play with wingers, you know.
Ooh la la and va va voom! You Frrrenchmen are so naughtee. I suspect neither of those girls would be too keen on sharing, Tel, but hey, I'm sure you're a persuasive guy...
ooh la la, va va voom and ho ho ho, has any got an aspirin?
aah, got One, that's better
Zeph: thanks for the Chanelle link. It does work and I will be checking up on the non-Essex girls in this dangerous period of binge-drinking and returning home cricketers!
the link works, are you sure you want me to sabotage your tread,i am so tempted.
Guitou, you're in a funny mood today, jumping off trains and such... seems like Chanelle's blog has given the froggles new chances to play hide-and-seek:)
Erm, so yeah, I'm in Barcelona and my Spanish isn't working... there is some other language, maybe? Catanelle?
I was hoping I would hear the roar of Camp Nou singing his praises (...I seen the new Ian Wright, I said to him, who could that be...), but maybe in Spanish, but the only large crowds making noises are the bars at 4am and the bullfight.
Speaking of high heels: cobblestones, dog poo, sand and decomposing haggises (haggi?) oivay!
Interestingly the "dh," "th," "th," and "th" all sound very similar in Arabic, too.
Honolulu,
When you're coming back from Spain Catalunya, can you smuggle Lionel Messi in your luggage (he should fit) and drop him off here:
Arsenal Football Club
Highbury House
75 Drayton Park
London N5 1BU
Thank You! And enjoy the city
Aaaa! The HTML code for 'strikethrough' doesn't work. Spain was supposed to be crossed out.
Hi Lulu, good to see you here. That other language they use here in Barcelone, is called Cantaloupe. No wonder you're having trouble communicating. lol.
Anything else I can help you with, don't hesitate to ask.
North London derby coming up and no chance of catching it, merde.
Strange kick-off time, are you scattered gunners going to watch? Guitou is probably at the Emirates already...
Do you think the melon will strike again?
It's 3 am dans l'Etats Unis. I have rougly 4 hours to sleep until the match.
Urgh...
From GU:
"while Manchester United have suffered from the fall-out of their Christmas party last week, Wenger's youthful squad's get-together was limited to sipping lemonade with the Junior Gunners."
Priceless. Arsène sure knows how to have fun.
Chanelle's reverse psychology seems to have worked, as Alistair Cook played really well today.. mm.... maybe someone showed him the article, wonder which of the England team reads Pseuds?
Honolulu, your man does seem to have been a bit quiet in Barcelona, or have I just not been paying attention?
Offie, specially prepared and nutritionally rich lemonade as well, no doubt.
Probably limonade even, imported from Menton.
I love Cesc, and Kolo, and Ade, and Hleb, and Flamini, and both Manuels (on emore than the other), and Niklas, and everyone else!
Happy Holidays everyone!
That's what we like to see - a happy blogger:)
ervanp,
now that the arsenal star is shining on the top of the christmas tree, enjoy the moment, but don't ask for the Messi too soon-
You must have your Kaka fist-
Decemb
exvp, well done! Easy on the celebratory lemonade now.
I thought Cesc's backheel was pretty sweet until I saw Robbie Keane's.
Air Bendtner?
ah bless. I want to sip lemonade with the arsenal squad, only I wasn't invited.
woke up before dawn to watch arsenal win, then played a pretty decent game of football myself, a saturday morning well spent. (exvanp, what do we want messi for? he's only sublime when he's not injured, which is not nearly often enough.)
munni,
at last, a real player among us! What position do you play. Did you score? Did you win? Can we have a match report? We're still waiting for exvp's article...
offside, well I didn't say I was any good. (girls playing football? that's unnatural).
munni,
please don't forget, you have a book to write -
I thought I was the only crazy guy watching the Arse at 4.30am..
does ervanp is getting inspiration from Russel Brand?
munni,
and I would sip mojito at Malo to celebrate.Aie que bueno.
Unnatural? I don't know. I used to enjoy playing park football with girls after work in Ireland. The Irish girls gave as good as they got on the pitch and they could drink you under the table afterwards.
And it certainly wasn't lemonade. Cheers!
He :is: awfully quiet, but it is because he felt guilty about saying all the sweet things about Arsenal and how he did them a favor by leaving so he tried to compensate by kissing the Barca badge when he scored his first, but it looked like a staged kiss between two gay amateur actors of the opposite sex. He still loves the Arse, poor thing.
Do we really want Lionel Messi? For you, ervp, I would smuggle him, but he is a munchkin and munni is right, he is made of more delicate stuff than Rosicky. I'd rather have my Cesc, and admire Messi from afar.
I'm not worried about AC Milan. Maybe I'm crazy, naive, stupid... but I think we can excoriate them in the first game (home) like we did Sevilla. They are calling the game a battle between "youth" and "experience," but so many in the current side played in the final two years ago. This team is young and might lose concentration, but I think the rossoneri have much, much more to worry about.
-girls and football, always about who is cute who is not,,,forgot Pipo Inzaghi the bird of Prey...what should we do, cut the wings? circle the wagons, close the shutters? I go watch charlie wilsons war for moreinspiration..
Offie, forgot to answer your questions: I play mostly on the left wing, did not score, did win. We're a mixed team, and each side is required to field a minimum of three women. Slight feminist rant: I had rather a good shot with a header, and all the guys on my team got all concerned and went, ooh, are you alright, did it hurt? Now I'm the first to admit it was a fluke, and I usually avoid headers because I'm scared of them, but "did it hurt?". I ask you. You wouldn't ask a man that.
Lulu, I am a little worried about Milan, them being champions of the planet and all, but I have a good feeling about it. And the youth are learning fast.
Guitou, how cute is cute enough to play football? so I know if I qualify.
Munni,
you definitely qualify to play for the Pseudscorner XI. Greengrass is usually our left-winger, but he is getting on, so a fresh pair of legs would come in handy.
munni.
I meant girls and football and cute boys-I am glad to read you're playing left wing, something you have in common with Titi.
offside,
1) No lemonade for me :)
2) I'll write it soon, or rather finish. I wrote a section of the piece for our school paper, but I kinda left it late and had to do it in 20 minutes...it follows the theme from that Marcela blog - "Is football art?" from last year.
But I need to, ahem, refine it quite a bit. I didn't have much time - school and chasing an Argie bird :) But I just finished taking my exams *goes to happy place, stop thinking about the grades*, so now I have a semester of nothing left. Much more time :)
guito,
*Adopts Vigo Mortensen's accent from Eastern Promises*
Psht, Bird of Prey? I call uncle in Old Country, he bring sniper rifle and shoot his little wings off.
munni,
Messi can compete with *giggles* Randal for a Carling Cup spot.
And can I play left back?
Hmmm, an entire US-based, but multi-ethnic left wing? Interesting. We have to check with the elders of course (I'm only in charge of halft-time refreshments), but yeah we could do with a bit of yoof (not hoof).
If I were you, I'd concentrate on the writing and the argie bird, although the former can be elusive and the latter always disappears into the sunset. (Unless of course, you're mistaken and it's actually a puma. In that case, ask greengrass for advice).
Good luck with it all, anyway.
PS: Guitou is so left-wing, he's on the wrong side of the touch line.
Is lemon good for melons?
Festive felicitations to to all the Pseuders, Pseudophiles, Pseudomites and all who sail in the good ship Pseud.
The good Saab Bluedaddy strikes north (south being a soggy option living in Brighton) later today after the usual bout of panicked packing and last minute shopping for key ingredients that I simply must have and without which Christmas will be ruined.
Been a blast this year (have we not been doing whatever This is for much longer than that?) and lovely to meet y'all.
Happy 2008, sure to be a Blue year, especially if M.Drogba stays happy and healthy.
Bluedaddy XX
Happy Christmas Bluedaddy, and make sure you don't forget anything! :)
Should anyone else drop in between bouts of shopping and indulgence, this thread will be serving traditional mulled wine - this is the recipe I've got:
2 x 75 cl bottles medium to full-bodied red wine (Bulgarian Cabernet Sauvignon is ideal)
1 orange stuck with cloves
2 oranges, sliced
2 lemons, sliced
6 level tablespoons granulated sugar or honey
2 inch (5 cm) piece cinnamon stick
2 level teaspoons finely grated fresh root ginger or ground ginger
2 tablespoons fruit liqueur such as Cointreau, Grand Marnier or cherry brandy (optional)
That's supposed to serve 12 but for Pseuds maybe we need double quantities....
Not sure about the Bulgarian wine either, though I'd hesitate to cook a good French wine in the presence of Offie and Guitou, so maybe it's for the best:)
And we will be playing this kind of thing
Thanks Zeph, that was Elvis coolest Christmas blues.
40 years later still stands.

It's easy to understand why the public loves premiership football-However watching-Milan AC-Inter was something else-precision football. Still much better to watch than a Manutd-Liverpool or Chelsea-Arsenal-Premiership best league in the world it's a media hype, technically there is no contest between italian teams and english clubs-Milan world club champion,it was poetic justice. Prose too.
Guitou,
don't think anyone would argue that Italian footballers (or Croation, Macedonian or even Luxembugers) aren't technically better than Engleballers but perhaps some on these pages would agree that the Arse are right up there with the best - Milan v Arsenal games will be v.interesting
but yes PL is totally hyped up yet usually far more entertaining than most Ity-bitty footie
oh and Yes, great King clip Zeph
filou,
anyway we're left wing, how can we get it right, right?
i was talking about the clubs not specifically the english players-
Arsenal! filou, weren't you part of the "Arsenal c'est fini" team last summer-supporting the end of an era theory by Ebren?
However,
I don't think it's realistic for Wenger to think he can beat Barcelonna or Milan asmuch as I love to be wrong they have better talent and more depth..
My compliments to miss Chanelle,
Happy Christmas everybody-
Happy Christmas everybody,
Happy Christmas Guitou!
There was a good GU post the other day from an Australian, saying the England cricket team aren't the best players but they're the most entertaining to watch because there's always some new crisis going on and you don't know quite what they're going to do next. It seems to be what we do - crap skills but lots of drama!
Bulgarian stuff? Bah. Humbug. Grmpf. Côtes du Rhône, non?
I thought you'd say that Offie, there's some better French wine if you don't mind it being cooked with oranges and cloves and stuff.
Guitou and File have drunk all the Bulgarian anyway.
Hmmm, we seem to be in some sort of taproom...
Taproom? Of course, where else would we want to spend the run-up to Christmas?
Bulgarian, Romanian, Italian, Chilean, Australian, etc... I have absolutely nothing against them. In fact, I plan to try them all as soon as I'm finished tasting ALL the French ones.
G, yes I've been surprised by Wengers babies this season, thought it was gonna be yet another season of rebuilding
**Mucho Joyeaux Christmas Alles**
A shot of Snake Juice for me and a Peyote chaser please barkeep
Coming up Senor File, let me just put this wine song on the jukebox for Offie.
I'd like a trial for midfield, too please. I can play on the left or right, but I thrive in the center, one-touching; I don't score very often, but I had more assists my senior year of high school than the rest of the team combined! I used to fancy myself the Bobby Pires of my team.
Lemon is good for congested melons.
Help yourself to mulled wine, Lulu, is this the start of Virtual Football? maybe the Pseuds team could play one of Lord Ebren's other sites? Not sure about a GU team, too rough.
Hey Filou, will you be celebrating Christmas or are you following local observances? If you do, will you be the only ones in your neighbourhood?
Tahitian coconut trees are all decorated and Tahitian people are walking around in 35° heat wearing red santa hats. All perfectly normal.
Let's get mulled!
Offie, well the fillets have to learn about conspicuous over-consumption and naked drunken greed from somewhere don't they?
er...I mean peace and good will to all men (and women), sorry, bit Edgy at the moment!!
yes, we've decked the halls with fairy lights and shiny things and mysteriously clumpy stockings are loitering with intent in hidden corners, there won't be any turkey but we'll have Papaya Salad and Cranberry sauce as always
(The Thai's will take any excuse for flashing lights and riotous knees up that's why they celebrate western new year, Chinese new year and Thai new year with Gusto too)
btw/ 35c here too (unusual for the time of year where we are)
ps/ tis the season to get mulled non?
Nice freezing thick fog here, very mysterious and Christmassy!
no snow yet then Zeph?
Nah, too early, usually January isn't it? (if you can remember:)) It's going to pour with rain on Christmas Day too, so all you hot zone types will be able to mock.
L.A , perfect 2Oº blue sky , palm trees and shopping malls playing loudly Bing Crosby "White Christmas".
-The talk of the town"Charlie Wilson's war"the movie is a comedy about the cia cover-up operation in Agfanistan against the soviets.I bet the french title
will be:"whisky et petites pépees"-recommended to the wild bunch (gg, offie, filou) cos the movie is overflowing with booze .
mock mock mockitty mockitty mock mock mick.
Guitou,
I thought you were freezing your ass off in London already. When you get there, give Marcela and Zeph a great big Christmas kiss from me.
I'll be in Paris jan 05/2008-.I could eurostar myself to London later during the month but if there is kissing it would be a Happy new year at the time...
Yawn.... morning all... coffee, croissants, last-minute shopping...
and here's another example of how to make a cheesy Christmas song into something special.
Yes, an almond croissant and a capuccino Zeph please. Mrs O's gone shopping, little Offspring and I have all morning to watch cartoons. Gotta run, Tom & Jerry are on.
Joyeux Noël, tout le monde !
Just going on number of posts, reckon this is the best place to post seasonal greetings, wishings of happiness, fun and all that to to you. Great crowd, much fun has been had, many brilliant words have been read in articles and comments.
Power to all Pseuds, whoever you are, wherever you are and now I feel a Shipping Forecast coming on, or a Richie Benaud commentary - either would be more welcome than mawkish crap on the radio tomorrow morning.
Happy Christmas!
Virtual footie?
Any footie! Yes, yes, yes, count me in... at least until my classes start again!
